HBO Throws Out Adult Entertainment – Pornhub To The Rescue

    hbo no more adult content

The Emmy decorated pay tv channel HBO was once home of several adult entertainment offerings that were much loved by fans. Over the last few years, most of these shows had been canceled and now there are no traces left of HBO’s involvement in porn production. Tube site Pornhub saw a unique opportunity and turned to Twitter to make HBO an offer that could rescue some of the programmings from obscurity.

The crown jewel of US Pay TV, HBO, quietly erased all explicit porn contents from its line-up. The home of hit shows like »The Sopranos«, »Sex and the City«, »Game of Thrones«, »Curb Your Enthusiasm« as well as award-winning documentaries, exclusive boxing events and John Oliver’s influential late-night show »Last Week Tonight« was also home to many porn offerings. Slowly but surely the Pay TV channel canceled all of its adult entertainment offerings from its catalog and made a small announcement recently that it would not offer any adult entertainment content anymore. Now Pornhub tweeted an offer to renew several legendary series and host them on its own network.

The tube site based in Montreal has offered to produce new seasons of some of the top-rated series HBO had canceled. Among the much-loved shows were gems like »Taxicab Confessions« and »Real Sex«, remnants of a time when porn was rare and costly.

Corey Price, Pornhub’s omnipresent Vice-President made the offer to HBO via Twitter. He said: »We can attest to the continued demand for adult programming and think there is immense value in the promotion and consumption of sex-positive shows. That said, we would like to extend an offer to help produce new seasons of the informative skin-baring programs and host them on our HD, on-demand platform Pornhub Premium.«

Price added: »We would also be willing to house past seasons of said programs on Pornhub Premium for our fans to enjoy 24/7. At the end of the day, we’re all about penetrating new markets, and we’re excited to insert ourselves into this discussion and hopefully provide more compelling original content for our fans.«

So far HBO has not replied to the offer. The pay tv channel was recently part of a merger between AT&T and its parent company Time Warner. But the company claims that the merger and its new parent company AT&T had no impact on the decision to cancel all porn contents from its programming.

A spokesperson for HBO said: »Over the past several years HBO has been winding down its late-night adult fare. While we’re greatly ramping up our other original program offerings, there hasn’t been a strong demand for this kind of adult programming, perhaps because it’s easily available elsewhere.«

Be that as it may, the brands HBO created seemed to be interesting enough for Pornhub to make another publicity coup.
